Manchester’s deprivation report
Here’s a deprivation report from Manchester city council looking at changes in the city relative to the 2010 Indices of Deprivation. The report notes that:
“Manchester has been ranked as first in the rank of the proportion of LSOAs that are in the most deprived 10% nationally in the Health Deprivation and Disability domain.”
However as it points out that since the 2010 Indices Manchester has improved relatively based on rank of average scores, taking it on this assessment from the fourth most deprived local authority to the fifth.
The report features deprivation maps that break the 10% most deprived down into 3 categories to make it possible to pinpoint LSOAs in the 1% and 2-5% most deprived nationally.
